Systemic change is the only hope

- Expecting individuals (whomever it may be) to fix it, has not worked. Legitimising so much power to one position (in a democracy) is a high risk.
- The only sustainable solution is a qualified, competent, and strong civil service and systems, that politicians cannot interfere with.
- Decades of abusing the system (and the culture that surrounds it) cannot be undone in a hurry. The cure requires enduring pain in the change process.
